The Formula 1 2021 season continues with so much drama for the lead. After so many years of Mercedes’ dominance in the F1, we finally got a real rival: Red Bull. Same as Hamilton, Max Verstappen is the only driver from Red Bull that is actually fighting for the drivers’ championship.
In the last Italian Grand Prix, Hamilton and Verstappen crashed after none of them wanted to give up in a dangerous corner. As a result, both of them were out of the race and Daniel Ricciardo achieved an amazing victory, the first one for McLaren in the new F1 era. Also, all Ricciardo fans who placed bets with Pinnacle through a betting agent for his victory, won up to 110 times the stake they placed, as the odds offered by Pinnacle were huge.
Another episode in the fight for the title
As all F1 fans know, this could be the year when someone else (in this case, Max Verstappen) could beat Hamilton’s title-winning streak. The Dutch driver is ahead in the driver’s championship but just as few points, so the fight for both has been a tough one. The first episode was in the Silverstone Grand Prix when both drivers touched their cars and Max had to abandon the race. On this occasion, the crash was a massive one and none of the drivers could continue.
In the end, for Monza, the stewards put the blame on Max Verstappen. He will lose 3 places in the next starting grid (Russia). The controversy in the social networks started because Hamilton received a soft sanction in England (10-second penalty) that didn’t give him any problems to win the race, while Max’s punishment is definitely different.
The halo keeps showing its safety
At the moment of the crash, Max was taking fast laps before going into the pits. On the contrary, Lewis was exiting from the pit stop. Both cars entered into the first corner side to side, but none of them wanted to lose a position and the collision was imminent. After a touch of wheels, Max’s car jumped and it landed over Lewis’. Max’s rear-wheel hit Hamilton’s halo, avoiding contact with the head after a really dangerous collision.
From our point of view, none of the drivers is guilty. They were simply fighting for a position and, with a very close drivers’ championship standing, it is more than comprehensive for both sides. Fortunately, both drivers managed to jump out of the cars without injures and it was only a spectacular maneuver to watch in slow motion. The first words of both drivers were very neutral and it doesn’t seem to be a major problem for future races. Still, keep reading our sports news section and don’t lose any of the following statements from the drivers and teams in the next few days.
