Champions League – Huge Mistake and Final Draw

The last Champions League’s draw will be remembered by all of us and not precisely due to a good reason. The staff made a mistake during the draw and they continued it like nothing happened. Millions of fans saw the schedule for the final stage only to discover that it wasn’t the real one. The draw had to be done once again and two hours later we finally saw the results for the Champions League final stage. What could have happened

Minutes later after the draw was completed, the mistake was informed on social networks. The official UEFA Champions League Twitter account said: “Following a technical problem with the software of an external service provider that instructs the officials as to which teams are eligible to play each other, a material error occurred in the draw for the UEFA Champions League Round of 16.”

With this, the first draw we all saw was null. Actually, for the entire world, it was a shame. The reason is that one of the games was between PSG and Manchester United. It was something that people were not expecting as the chances were low. Still, history wanted us (for some minutes) to live another duel between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

The final draw

A couple of hours later, the final draw was presented. Some teams were relieved because of the changes, some others not. For Atletico Madrid, it was great because they won’t have to face – for now – the giant Bayern Munich. On the other hand, Real Madrid moved from Benfica to PSG, which is clearly a hardest task now.
